Services

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage: Relieves deep muscle tension and pain for long-lasting relief. MacKenzie is trained in Rolfing Structural Integration which focuses on systematically organizing fascia; the connective tissue that is essentially the brain wrapped around the body

Sports Massage

Sports Massage: Enhances athletic performance and accelerates recovery times. Neuro Kinetic Therapy is the tool used to quickly locate the true source of the problem. This type of work requires some participation on the table in the form of muscle tests and is extremely effective

Lymphatic Drainage

The Lymphatic System relies on muscular movement to move through the body meaning we can manually drain and move this fluid with light touch: Offers complete relaxation, boosts circulation, and reduces stress.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect during my first visit?

During your first visit, you'll undergo a brief consultation to discuss your health history and goals for the session. This ensures a personalized massage experience tailored to your needs. Scar tissue is often a factor when dealing with pain so it is important to try and remember the location of past injuries, surgeries, concussions and accidents as the body can "remember" these things long after localized pain is gone.

How often should I get a massage?

The frequency of massage therapy varies per individual. Some clients benefit from weekly sessions, while others might visit monthly. It depends on your body's needs and your wellness goals.

For active pain 2-3 times in rapid succession (every 10 days to 2 weeks) until the pain is tolerable or gone is recommended, followed by less frequent check ups. Making bodywork part of your normal routine helps you become more sensitized to when you are feeling "off". Only 10% of your sensory receptors are made to interpret pain meaning by the time you feel it, you are at 90% capacity. Staying ahead of the pain is the goal.

What should I wear to my massage appointment?

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing to your appointment. Depending on the type of massage, you may be asked to undress to your comfort level.
